WELCOME TO AGGIE SISTERS IN HEALTHCARE
SUPPORT. MOTIVATE. EMPOWER.
Welcome from our President!
My name is Josie Heflin and I am so excited to be serving as the president of Aggie Sisters in Healthcare for the 2021-2022 school year. After deciding to pursue a career in healthcare at the end of my freshman year, I joined our amazing organization in the fall of 2019 during my sophomore year.
I am from Gilmer, Texas and I am the loudest and the proudest member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2022, A-WHOOP!! I am an animal science major and plan to apply to PA school in the next year or two to pursue a career in pediatrics.
The past two years that I have been in ASH, I have grown in so many ways. Reflecting back on the young freshman who was unsure of where she was headed in life, I can confidently say that I have gained so much experience through this organization. I have gained insight into my career goals and also gained some lifelong friends. In my year as president, I want to promote the sense of sisterhood that I have always received and to help our members feel confident in their future.
ASH is a unique organization on-campus because we are filled with members entering the healthcare field as pharmacists, veterinarians, nurses, and so much more! We promote professionalism by hosting panel meetings and other application workshops as well as sisterhood. We have big/little mentorship programs and retreat which serve to bring us all closer together in the hopes of motivating each other towards our professional goals.
The 2021-2022 Officer Team is hard at work planning fun events for all of our members! Some of our favorites include movie nights, formal, and service events! We are still working on the transition to in person activities, but we are confident it is going to be a great year! Through these events, we grow closer as a sisterhood and unite members through our shared love for healthcare.
